The concept for this project was to create a nurturing focal point for family growth. An enchanting space where all outside troubles are forgotten and family becomes the forefront of everyday activity. The design centred around creating a warm, and welcoming environment for this family to gather as well as take full advantage of the backyard vistas to create a direct relationship with the outdoors. Through glazing and organic lines, the geometry of the space can relate to the exterior and create a warmth for this family to gather. An open concept space can also further this ideology by allowing a seamless transition from room to room, extending through vast glazing, thus creating a direct relationship with the outdoors.

The Matthews Residence is a safe haven for this family to gather and make memories. It is a space where all of their outside troubles are forgotten the moment they walk through the front door and where they can gather and make unforgettable memories.
